Toulmin Kitchen & Bath Has a New Television Commercial
Here at Toulmin Kitchen & Bath, we're always looking for ways to let the people in our community know about our business, and also to have a little fun. To that end, we're proud to announce our latest effort... in the kitchen!
Coming August 1st, A New TV Spot From Toulmin Kitchen & Bath!
Our newest TV spot came together with the help of a lot of our friends and clients! Developed by Jay Young, and the Birmingham, Alabama based creative team at Kernal Created By Spectrum Reach, and our (former) Spectrum rep Stephanie Holcomb, our new spot highlights our friends, and recent projects.
The spot features all of our products and three of our recent projects, two new construction kitchens and one remodel. We wanted to take a different approach for this one since we've always done pretty standard TV spots, so we got some of our clients and their kids, family friends, and one adorable dog involved with the project.
We asked three of our recent clients if we could “borrow” their homes for our set and we're so happy they all agreed and were flattered when they also decided to act in the spot as well! In fact, all of the “actors” in our new commercial are friends and clients of the Toulmin family, and one even got the family dog into the act!
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and we wanted to show the fun that our clients have in their new kitchens. We also wanted to bring a focus to our community and the homeowners, families, and the creative people in Tuscaloosa!
We Needed A Catchy Song
We had the concept for the spot together, and our clients were on board. Now, all we needed was a catchy song to tie it all together, that's when our Tuscaloosa-based Spectrum rep, Stephanie, and our family friend local realtor Denise Hayes got it together!
We were looking for something that was a little upbeat and had a kind of Motown sounds. That's when Denise suggested the Etta James song “In The Basement.” We loved the idea! She got to work and reworked the lyrics, changing them to “in the kitchen.” It was perfect.
Stephanie had a friend who was a local blues singer in the Tuscaloosa area named Shannon Chandler, who she thought would be a great fit. We approached Shannon, and she loved the idea and jumped on board. The end result is the perfect upbeat, catchy, fun sound we were looking for and a TV commercial was born!

At Toulmin Kitchen and Bath, we're grateful to our clients and so proud of our community. This spot is entirely the result of an effort by our new and old friends throughout the Tuscaloosa community, and it would have never happened without the efforts of everyone involved. We love that this project resulted in new friendships and showcases the work we do and our community.
